Forensic Training, Research, and Practice (fTRP) Lab (01/2024 – 10/2024)

Projects worked on: 1) Interpreter Study and 2) Autism Study
The Forensic Training, Research, and Practice Lab consists of students who are interested in entering the forensic (civil and/or criminal) field. The group consists of mentorship, forensic research projects, discussions, presentations, and training on forensic instruments (FAIs), including performance validity tests (PVTs), symptom validity tests (SVTs), and forensic uses of assessments used in clinical psychology (i.e., IQ testing). Additionally, I assisted another student in qualitative coding for a dissertation research project focused on exploring the incorporation of cultural competence practices in forensic evaluation work.
Trauma Interest Group 07/2023 – 06/2024

The Trauma Interest Group consists of students with interests in exploring and learning more about the role traumatic events in all their various forms play in individual development, mental health, groups, social systems, organizations, cultures, and government. The group was
established at the behest of students who expressed a desire to obtain access to various research opportunities and knowledge of efficacious treatment approaches as they arise.
Anger, Aggression, and Irritability Research Group (ARG) (10/2022 – 10/2024)

Current Project: Disaggregating Latine/o/a/x and Hispanic Anger
The Anger Research Group examines the constructs of anger, aggression, irritability, and relationships. Identified cultural differences, similarities, and the roles the constructs have within the DSM-5-TR. Discussed and received training in the application of CBT interventions to all three constructs. Developed materials for a study (methodology, IRB application) and presented at the Antioch PsyD research fair.

Projects Worked: Imposter Phenomenon in Neurodiverse Psy.D. Students
The purpose of this phenomenological qualitative study was to explore the lived experiences of imposter phenomena among neurodiverse Psy.D. students for our class project, with the additional goal of continuing the project to develop a manuscript for publication.
